Music MattersHarmony Day – Performance on Sunday 18 MarchThe Orange City Council ran a Harmony Day Ceremony and Fair in the Orange Art GalleryForecourt on Sunday. Our Stage Band and Chamber Choir both performed during the ceremonyand were received very well. It is always challenging for a choir to sing outside as so much of thesound is lost. However, they sounded excellent and “La Paradisi” had particularly good energy. StageBand presented “Come Away With Me” by Nora Jones and “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” byThe Police. Jack Brand performed the vocal solo for the Norah Jones piece on Tenor Saxophone withwonderful musicality and a gorgeous sound. In fact, the saxophone section sounded particularly good ingeneral! Thank you to all the performers and their parents who were incredibly patient considering thedelays in performance times. Thank you very much to Mr Alloway for moving equipment to and fromschool for the day and his direction of Stage Band and to Ms Anthony for her direction of Chamber Choir andhelp on the day. It was really worthwhile to represent our school at an event focused on community.Anzac Day – Marching Band to participateAny student in Symphonic Wind Ensemble is in the KWS Marching Band.
