Paul is talking abouttheir bodies being asleep.] that ye sorrow not,even as others which have no hope.14 For if we believe that Jesus died and roseagain, EVEN SO THEM ALSO WHICH SLEEPIN JESUS WILL GOD BRING WITH HIM.15 For this we say unto you by the word of theLord [You see, Paul had a Word from the Lord onit.], that we which are alive and remain untothe coming of the Lord [Paul is still looking forHim; he expected to be alive and remain, becausehe used the word “we.”] shall not prevent themwhich are asleep.16 For the Lord himself shall descend fromheaven with a shout, with the voice of thearchangel, and with the trump of God: and thedead in Christ shall rise first:17 Then we which are alive and remain shallbe CAUGHT UP [Caught up!] together with
31them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air:and so shall we ever be with the Lord.18 Wherefore comfort one another with thesewords.We read in other places that Jesus is comingback to the earth, but here we see He’scoming back with His saints. How could weCOME BACK with Him if we hadn’t alreadyGONE to be with Him?How could we COME BACK fromOklahoma City if we HAVEN’T BEEN toOklahoma City?Yes, Jesus is coming back to the eartheventually, but this is not talking aboutthat here. Can you see that?CAUGHT UP! We which are alive andremain shall be CAUGHT UP! That’swhat we mean when we talk about theRapture—caught up. You may call it eitherterm. There is coming a “catching away.”Caught up!Verse 17 says, “Then we which are aliveand remain shall be caught up TOGETHERWITH THEM in the clouds to meet the Lord
