Low-Cost, Portable, USB/Ethernet Data LoggerSystemDI-710 Series16 Single-ended, 8Differential Analog InputsStand-alone Data LoggerOption Allows Data to beSaved to SDMultiple Hardware OptionsThe DATAQ Instruments DI-710 Seriesof products is a family of instrumentsfor general purpose and stand-alone datalogger data acquisition applications.Options include interface type, inputvoltage range, and PC-connected or standalonedata logger operation. Interfaceoptions are USB or Ethernet. Gain rangeshave selectable factors per channel of1, 2, 4, and 8, or 1, 10, 100, and 1000.Instruments with the stand-alone datalogger option feature a built-in multimediasocket that accepts standard Secure Digital(SD) memories to which acquired datamay be stored without a connected PC.SD memories are the same commonlyavailable mass storage devices usedwith digital cameras and MP3 players.Memories ranging in size from 16 MB to2 GB are supported. Instruments withoutthis option must remain tethered to aPC’s USB or Ethernet port during dataacquisition and use the PC’s own programand memory to store acquired data. All DI-710 Series products feature 14-bitmeasurement resolution, sixteen analoginput channels that may be configured forsingle ended or differential operation perchannel, and an 8-bit digital bi-directionalport. PC-connected instruments streamdata to the PC from as low as 0.048 Hzup to as high as 4,800 Hz throughput rate.Stand-alone data loggers store to their SDmemory from as low as 0.0017 Hz up toas high as 14,400 samples per second. AllDI-710 instruments are supplied with tworemovable, 16-position screw terminalaccess connectors.Stand-alone Data LoggerOperationUse a Secure Digital Card to record andstore data—up to 2GB. A FIFO memoryconfiguration allows the DI-710 to recordcontinuously using a circular bufferapproach. A push button allows manualstart/stop control over the recordingprocess. A multi color LED showsinstrument status (Record, Standby, Busy,Error).Wide Signal Measurement RangeSuitable for use with all types oftransducers, the 16-channel single-ended,8-channel differential DI-710 features aper-channel measurement range of ±10 Vover four gain ranges. This allows you tosimultaneously measure a wide range ofsignals with ease.Flexible ProgrammabilityChannel-by-channel software selectionof gain and single-ended/differentialoperation.High Throughput RateSupports sample throughput rates up to4800 samples/sec to PC (depending onhost computer speed) or up to 14,400samples/sec to memory card (stand-alonedata loggers).High Resolution14-bit resolution analog to digitalconversion provides a responsiveinstrument capable of registering changesas small as one part in 8.192 (±0.012% ofthe full scale measurement range).FeaturesFront of DI-710File ProtectionWhen powered down unexpectedly, theDI-710 Stand-alone model retains all datasaved to its memory card.Easy to Connect & UseInstalls in seconds. Simply connect to yourcomputer's USB port or to an Ethernetport. Connect power, then connect yoursignals to the provided screw terminalblocks (16 ports each). Stand-alone dataloggers just require a Secure Digital Cardand power.Includes SoftwareBe up and running minutes out of the boxwith WINDAQ software. WINDAQ/LiteRecording and Playback software isincluded free with the purchase of everyDI-710 instrument. Record at rates up to1000 Hz using WINDAQ/Lite Acquisitionsoftware. WINDAQ/Pro High Speed optionallows you to record data as fast as yourdata acquisition system will allow. UseWINDAQ/Lite Playback software (WWB)to review, measure, and analyze your dataduring or after a recording session.DATAQ Instruments Hardware ManagerSoftware allows you to effectively manageand run multiple units installed to your PC,your network, or even over the Internet. Itincludes configuration software for standalonedata loggers allowing a completedata acquisition configuration to bedesigned and downloaded from any localor remote PC. Upload software allows youto read data stored to an SD card over theDI-710’s Ethernet interface.DATAQ Instruments, Inc. • 241 Springside Drive • Akron, Ohio 44333 • Tel: 330-668-1444 • Email: support@dataq.com • www.dataq.com
