Reduce Need to Retain Paint Test CertificatesIDEA:Receipt inspection requirements shall not require any more information than a manufacturer’s certificate ofconformance. No material testing results or other data are required to be retained. Certificates ofconformance are only required for coatings used in critical coated areas, and are not required for topside,underwater-hull, and nonskid coatings.RISK:Low because <strong>NAVSEA</strong> has worked extensively with SEA 08 and the Cumbersome Work Practices program tostreamline receipt inspection data collection.REFERENCE: None, non-standard practice.Technical Requirements to Not Retain Test CertificatesMaterial:As per established contract. Only coatings applied to critical-coated areas, excluding topside, underwaterhulland nonskid would require manufacturer’s certificates of conformance to be retained. Certificates ofconformance are not required to be retained for coatings applied in non-critical coated areas.
