10 Tips For Becoming KnownAs An Industry ExpertDeveloping a reputation as an expertin your industry can raise yourbusiness’s profile; help you attract customers,partners and employees; andeven enable you to charge more for yourproducts and services. You’re already anexpert in what you do—and spreadingthe word about that expertise is easierthan you might think. Here are 10 tips toget you started.1. Give a speech. Find organizationsthat your target customers belongto—whether the local marathon runners’training group, PTA or Rotaryclub—and offer to speak at their meetings.Create a relevant handout to leavebehind, and bring business cards andbrochures, too.2. To become anindustry expert, you’ve got to be activein your industry. But don’t just attendindustry events and conferences—takea leadership role by offering to headcommittees, speak at events or developprograms.9. Network. Be an active networker,both online and offline. Focus noton what you can gain, but on how youcan help others by connecting them andsharing valuable information.
