F.I.S.L.Y. President’s word
Dear Landsailors,
Dear sailors
It is an honor to present you the 10th Edition of
FISLY News.
We started this initiative September 1991 to
improve communication in landyachting. Till today
due to the cooperation of many authors, it was
possible to edit an issue at the evening of each
European- or World Championship and in meet of,
than we could give information and news from all
over the world about what was going on in
landyachting. At the other hand we have to stress,
that we only have in the UK (The landsailor), in B
(De Gyper) and in the USA (Nalsa News) a
newsletter or magazine on a regular base.
A common world-wide magazine should be very
good to promote our sport and improve
communication in our landyachting world. But to do
this, we need a significant amount of resources,
but maybe in the emergent e-world why not edit an
electronic magazine diffused through our website ?
All we need is correspondents all over the world to
give the necessary information to the editor. Why
not ? Talk about this issue with your delegates !
On behalf of FISLY I want to express our
appreciation to all who collaborate to the realization
of the issues of FISLY news.
Y-2000 is also a historical year due to two main
landyachting events. In March 2000, 120 land
yachters from all over the world sailed in Ivanpah
Dry Lake (USA) the PAC-RIM World Cup. In
October 2000, 150 pilots come to the Island of
Terschelling (H) to sail the 7th World (and …
European) Championships.
The organization of two world events in one year
proves the growth of landyachting all over the
world. We have to honor the organizers and their
teams for their efforts, because it is them who
make these events possible.
So many thanks on behalf of FISLY and please
express your appreciation to all of them during
these events.
