But I do notexpect ever again to repeat that great experienceof swinging in zigzags up the heart of Scotlandto the uttermost corner at the top.That is one type of caravanning: it is ofcourse not the only one ;not necessarily thebest. It isopen to us to explore awhole neighbourhood, by a tangle of crossjourneys,or to follow a river from source tosea, or to make our camps more permanentand move ponderously at intervals of severaldays from place to place. We may go atmidsummer and live to the full the outdoorthe shelterlife, or we may go in autumn and hugof the caravan. We may plunge into new countryor search out familiar scenes.
