He also associatedhimself intensely with the King Arthur legends, and his belief that the England had adestiny to rule the world. 10 Dee had a politico-religious program for the imperial destinyof Queen Elizabeth I. This expansion was based on the belief that Elizabeth wasdescended from King Arthur, who was supposedly also a descendent of Troy which hadbeen settled by the tribe of Dan, and that the Queen had a religious duty to conquer theworld.
