Although this <strong>in</strong>ternship is best suited <strong>for</strong> undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students near<strong>in</strong>ggradu<strong>at</strong>ion (dur<strong>in</strong>g last 2 semesters of school), we accept students who have alreadyearned their degree. This 600-hour/15 week <strong>in</strong>ternship will provide students with acomprehensive experience <strong>in</strong> cl<strong>in</strong>ical skills as well as professional development.The m<strong>in</strong>imum criteria <strong>for</strong> acceptance <strong>in</strong>to our <strong>child</strong> <strong>life</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternship are as follows:• M<strong>in</strong>imum of 100 volunteer hours rel<strong>at</strong>ed to work<strong>in</strong>g with <strong>child</strong>ren• Major GPA > 3.00• 2 Letters of referenceo 1 from a professor or academic advisoro 1 from a professional th<strong>at</strong> has observed <strong>you</strong> work<strong>in</strong>g with <strong>child</strong>ren• Official transcript from University• 500-word typed essay on why <strong>you</strong> would like to become a <strong>child</strong> <strong>life</strong> specialist• Resume with cover letter• Document<strong>at</strong>ion of Coursework Review by the Child Life Councilwww.<strong>child</strong><strong>life</strong>.orgAfter evalu<strong>at</strong>ion of <strong>you</strong>r applic<strong>at</strong>ion, <strong>you</strong> may be contacted <strong>for</strong> an <strong>in</strong>terview.Selection of <strong>in</strong>terns is based on GPA, letters of recommend<strong>at</strong>ion, essay, and personal<strong>in</strong>terview.
