REPORT OF THE MUNICIPAL SERVICES COMMITTEE
Meeting of June 7, 2011

The Municipal Services Committee reports and recommends that:
1. Ballard Road from Wisconsin Avenue to Longview Drive be reconstructed with concrete
pavement and curb and gutter to a width of 49' from back of curb to back of curb. The
reconstruction of Ballard will include the installation of new sidewalk along the east side of
Ballard Road between Wisconsin Avenue and Glendale Avenue. The proposed lane
configuration of the reconstructed Ballard Road will consist of one (1) northbound lane,
one (1) southbound lane, one (1) shared two-way left turn lane, and five foot on-street bike
lanes on each side of the proposed Ballard Road. Additionally, a raised median will be
constructed at the railroad crossing along Ballard Road. BE APPROVED (3/0)
2. The request from Muncheez Pizzeria for a permanent street occupancy permit to place a
street vendor cart at 10 W. College Avenue and 101 W. College Avenue contingent upon
meeting all Municipal Code requirements. BE APPROVED AS AMENDED (3/0)
3. The request from David Nelton for a variance to the Front Yard Parking Ordinance to
widen his driveway into the front yard at 1712 N. Richmond Street. BE APPROVED

4. In response to resolution R/B (6/1/11)/Spears - #8-R-11/Konetzke – the City of Appleton
discontinue the street railroad crossing on Superior Street and Locust Street and Eighth
Street in exchange for the Railroad’s donation of the mentioned railroad trestles.” BE
APPROVED AS AMENDED (2/1-Alderperson Konetzke)
