Appendix C Nick Hillard EmailDear Mr Hillard,Myself and Michael Newhouse, two 3rd and 4th year engineeringundergraduates are proposing to run a course for 15 people to build a 3.6mdiameter 1kW wind turbine at the University of <strong>Warwick</strong> over two weekendsin January 2010. The course is being run by the wind turbine specialistsV3 Power www.v3power.co.uk and designed to the Hugh Piggot specificationwww.scoraigwind.com. The dean of engineering is very keen on the idea andhas agreed to put £1200 towards the project, as well as letting us use theengineering workshops. He has also set up a correspondence with theEstates Office regarding the possible installation of the wind turbine oncampus. If the turbine was installed it would be the first DIY windturbine to be grid tied in the UK, which would be another boost to<strong>Warwick</strong>'s environmental credentials.Would you be able to meet Michael and I sometime to discuss this project?Kind regards,Adam Perrin24
