[ 15 - 300 kW ]The compact and pre-configured central air handling unitGEA COM4plusIntelligent climate control with maximum energy efficiency1,600 - 25,000 m 3 /hAir Treatment

Fast selection of equipmentIt doesn’t get any simpler or easierWith the GEA COM4plus central air handling system, there isno time-wasting search for a customised solution. The all-inclusiveprinciple eliminates the need for costly configuration. You need only to select the appropriate model size and decidewhich additional options should be included. In all cases, yourselection takes place fast, simply, and effectively.Model sizes and capacityThe basic unit is available in 9 model sizes, with variable volumeflow from 1,600 to 25,000 m³/h. As a result, GEA COM4plus canbe effective for a small workshop or for the offices of a middlesizedcompany.GEA COM4plus – all-inclusive:Intelligent system controlCompact, directly driven fan units withfrequency convertersShutter flaps integrated in the housingShutter drive system located outside theair flow, for hygienic conditionsAsymmetrical and optimally designedair-routing cross-sectionsGEA COM4plus – optionsXL rotation heat exchangerInstallation of the heat exchangers forheating and cooling operation in theunit, or in supply-air ducts provided bythe building owner/operatorOutdoor installationAll-inclusive featuresThe GEA COM4plus series is outfitted with an intelligent systemcontrol. Compact fan units with integrated frequency convertersensure great efficiency with low sound level. Drive units installedoutside the air flow – as well as gears on the outside forthe shutters installed inside the housing – enable ideal hygienicconditions. Motors with direct drive and variable speed allowadaptation of the air volume flow levels to the specific requirements.Asymmetrically designed air-routing cross-sections assureoptimal air impingement against the interior components.OptionsGEA COM4plus systems can be expanded on an optional basis.Operation of the rotation heat exchanger is optimally controlledby an integrated closed-loop control system, to match the heatrecoverydemand. An XL version of a rotation heat exchanger isavailable as an option. This heat exchanger, which features a largersurface area in the rotor core, can return to the building upto 90% of the thermal energy contained in the extracted air. Thisoption is especially interesting for countries with efficiency incentives(subsidies) that are based on the degree of heat-recuperationachieved. In addition, you enjoy all possibilities of addingon to the system with after-treatment of supply air. Here as well, the compact structural design of the GEA COM4plus plays a keyrole, because the after-treatment module can be simply integratedin the supply-air duct. As an alternative, it is possible to integratethe heat exchangers in the GEA COM4plus for cooling andheating operations, by extending the length of the equipmenthousing.4 PR-2009-0043-GB · Subject to modification · Version 06/2009

The GEA COM4plus incorporates all of the following: the accumulated experience of GEA engineers; newrequirements from the market, from sales, and from distribution experience; as well as proven GEA CAIRtechnology. The key characteristic of the GEA COM4plus series of models is their compact structural design with allessential functions of central building climate control. Since the integrated energy recuperation recovers up to 90%of the energy from the warm extracted air, it is in many cases not necessary to employ an electric heating bank.GEA COM4plus > Powerful, efficient, space-optimised[For indoor and outdoor installation][9 model sizes] [2 control systems][1,600 – 25,000 m 3 /h] [15 – 300 kW] [Heating, cooling, ventilating, and energy recuperation]All in one optimised central system unitPR-2009-0043-GB · Subject to modification · Version 06/20095

The control system: efficient and integratedJust the right turn for the right room climateWhether with the standard-factory GEA MATRIX closed-loopcontrol system, or alternatively with a Siemens controller: theuser always has access to a great number of functionalities foruser operation and open-loop control of the GEA COM4plus.Control system with numerous monitoringpossibilities:Pressure-drop measurement for monitoring ofsupply-air and exhaust-air filtersPosition measurement of the outside-air shutter,to prevent frost damageTemperature measurement to avoid frost, by anadditional frost-protection thermostat withswitch-off functionIcing-temperature measurement for evaporatorprotection for DX systemsMonitoring of the safety chain in case ofexternal compressor/condenser unitPlausibility check for recording of sensor errorsMonitoring of malfunction reports fromcirculation pumps, frequency converters, andsystems for energy recoveryThis central air handling unit is optimally matched to each individualapplication case: by means of the standard operatorcontrol unit, the GEA MATRIX control system, or the GEAMATRIX.PC initial-startup software. In order to ensure reliableoperation of the GEA COM4plus with a minimum of malfunctions, these control options record and continuously check a greatnumber and variety of measured values. If one of the monitoringunits responds, this is reported in plain text on the operatorcontrol unit, parallel via the malfunction-report output, and/orthrough the interface to the building-services management system.Communicative and easily understood – the operatorcontrollevelThe operator control unit offers a graphics-capable (GEAMATRIX) or a multi-line display (Siemens), with a menu structurethat corresponds to that of a mobile phone. In this manner, for example, setpoint entries and switching times can be veryeasily entered, and current actual values and alert messages canbe read off. If a second operator control unit is desired (for example, for simple setpoint-temperature entry), this is possiblewith the available bus system GEA MATRIX.Net, or with an analogueconnection (Siemens). The GEA COM4plus is equipped with the provenGEA MATRIX closed-loop control system. This allowsthe use of internal service structures in the Europeanoperation area. For use in Scandinavian countries, theSapphire controller by Siemens is appliedFast initial startupIn the factory before delivery, GEA COM4plus units are completelyassembled, wired, and placed into operation. The requiredfunctionalities are pre-set to the maximum possible degree. Thenext step is breakdown of the equipment into delivery units forshipment to the user. The electrical connections are plugged forsimple assembly. Colour designations (GEA MATRIX) additionallyhelp to prevent confusion. The remaining connections areprovided by a clearly designated terminal strip on the rear sideof the unit.6 PR-2009-0043-GB · Subject to modification · Version 06/2009
