Description of Programs or Services:
The Rugby School at Woodfield is located on a fouracre
campus in Wall Township only two miles from the
sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, parks, cultural and
recreational facilities. Just 5 minutes west of Belmar, in
Monmouth County, Rugby is centrally located near the
Garden State Parkway, State Highways 33, 34, and 35
and Routes 18 and 195.
Dedicated to the individual student, Rugby offers
comprehensive services for primary, intermediate and
secondary students. Programs include: college placement,
fast-start college credit programs for seniors, vocational
testing, in-school simulated work-experience, schoolto-work
transition services, CIE program, computers,
behavior management, shepherding, creative writing,
culinary, visual and performing arts. Rugby also offers a
full range of professional therapeutic services including
art therapy, supportive counseling, crisis intervention,
social skills and individual and group counseling
by certified practitioners. Rugby’s Health Services
Department provides psychiatric assessments, evaluation
and medication management. The Wellness Center
provides health care in conjunction with collaborating
physicians. Rugby’s curriculum is well organized and
comprehensive, combining workshops, lectures, Handson
activities and one-to-one tutoring sessions necessary
to enhance learning and allow students to master new
challenges.
