Conference Publications MATHMOD 2012 comes with a new publication strategy. The need of Proceedings which are listed in scientific citation systems caused us to change from electronic CD-Proceedings with ISBN, but without DOI and without science citation index listing, towards electronic web publication on a renowned publication server with citation features. As MATHMOD conference series is an IFAC - sponsored conference series, the choice for web publication for the Proceedings was IFAC-PapersOnLine.net, the web publication server of IFAC, the International Federation of Automatic Control. All papers published on IFAC-PapersOnLine.net can be cited using the site ISSN, the event ISBN, and the individual paper DOI (Digital Object Identifier), and furthermore publications will be indexed in SCOPUS, etc. IFAC- PapersOnLine.net, developed as a partnership between IFAC and Elsevier, the IFAC Publisher, is Open Access in nature – no charge to individual for reading or downloading, up to a limit of 25 papers per calendar month. Nevertheless, at MATHMOD 2012 preprints will be available. MATHMOD participants have provided Preprint Abstracts of their contributions for the printed MATHMOD 2012 Abstracts Preprint Volume and Preprint Full Contributions for the electronic MATHMOD 2012 Full Contributions Preprint Volume (USB Stick). The full preprint contributions will undergo a full-paper review for inclusion into MATHMOD 2012 Proceedings at the IFAC publication server IFAC-PapersOnLine.net. The Preprint Volumes, published as ARGESIM Report no. S38, compile the preprint abstracts and the preprint full contributions to MATHMOD 2012. Four contribution types have been provided. The classical contribution types are MATHMOD Contribution and MATH- MOD Minisymposium Contribution, accepted by general peer review based on an extended review abstracts, or by review of the minisymposium organisers. MATHMOD 2012 also continues with a novelty introduced in MATHMOD 2009 – the type MATHMOD Work-in- Progress Contribution. Contributions of this type are intended for presentation of recent developments and work in progress in all areas of modelling and simulation. And last but not least, MATHMOD Student Contributions give e.g. PhD Students a chance to present themselves their own work. Breitenecker, eds.; web proceedings; ISBN to be announced; each contribution with DOI and indexing Copyright Regulations Only contributions not published and not being considered for publication elsewhere were allowed to be submitted to MATHMOD 2012, with electronic Full Preprint publication and printed Abstract Preprint publication, and with Proceedings publication at IFAC publication web server IFAC-PapersOnLine.net (based on peer review of full preprint contributions). All contributions accepted by the preconference review based on extended review abstracts or by special review of the minisymposia are published in Preprint Volumes (printed abstracts, and USB stick with full contributions, published in series ARGESIM Reports), available at begin of MATHMOD 2012. Any full preprint contribution is automatically reviewed for proceedings publication at IFAC-PapersOnLine.net (full paper review). Copyright for accepted contributions is transferred to IFAC (for details, see IFAC-PapersOnLine.net). For Proceedings, as well as for Preprints, the IFC copyright regulations are valid.
