It describes how a number of assumptions about therole of architectural technology were formed.• The introduction informs about the background for the study in the recentdevelopment of the industry and about what the study achieved.• Chapter 1, the literature review, informs about the roles of the discussedprofessions and what was said about them until today.• Chapter 2 describes the research methodology applied and why it was chosen.• Chapter 3, Study 1 informs about the development of the questionnaire toolfor newly graduated professionals, the selection of the groups to ask in theUK and Denmark and the data finally collected. It also discusses how the datacan be interpreted in relation to the hypotheses.• Chapter 4, Study 2 informs about a questionnaire for educational staffmembers in Copenhagen who were asked about how they saw the professionsof architects and technologists in comparison. The reliability of the results isalso discussed in the chapter.• Chapter 5, Study 3 describes the work of the focus groups who were asked todiscuss the data from study 1. Apart from the focus group meetings and thereports from these, following-up questionnaires were sent to the participantsto secure the most informed and precise opinion possible.• Chapter 6, Discussion looks at the collected data from different points ofview and attempts to give a clear picture of what was achieved.33
