They are familiar with therequirements in terms of performance and programme design and aretherefore able to make an informed decision about their choice ofspecialised study.- Students begin to systematically examine the nature and scope of thesocial work practice setting to which their field practice is assigned:typical problems and tasks involved, structural settings in which socialwork is practised, role of the social worker, necessary personal andprofessional qualities, conceptual developments of social work practicesettings.- Students begin to examine, determine and defend possible methods andstrategies and begin to apply these appropriately to the contexts in whichsocial work is practised, and to the issues and service users addressed.First contacts have been established with the field practicum site. Students havesystematically studied the conceptual framework of the field practice setting.
