TraceTek cables andcomponents come with factory-installedconnectors which plug together with nospecial tools. This makes the system easyto install, and to modify in the future.The zone system is designed for use withthe TTDM alarm and locating module.However, the range of TraceTek alarmmodules and modular components allowsa monitoring approach and layout to betailored to the application. Page 2 provides adetailed listing of products specific to thezone system.For a more comprehensive listing ofTraceTek products, see the TraceTekProduct Selection Guide for Industrial andEnvironmental Applications (H55869).Basic Elements of Zone SystemA TraceTek zone system has the samebasic parts as all TraceTek leak detectionsystems, but does have some specificrequirements.• Alarm module. A zone system uses theTTDM alarm and locating module.• Leader and/or jumper cables. Thereare virtually no constraints on thelengths of nonsensing cable usedanywhere in the system.• Zone connector. This circuit componentis specific to the zone system; a zoneconnector is required for each sensingzone, including the last one.• Sensing cable. Each zone must have5 ft (1.5 m) of sensing cable.• End terminations. To complete thesensing circuit, the last zone connectorand each sensing cable must beterminated (see system illustration).• Accessories.
