Atlanta Regional OfficeThe quality <strong>of</strong> air needs to be assessed <strong>and</strong> improved. Current air exacerbating severeallergic reactions. (Director has Doctor verification for subject employees.) Director hassubmitted request to Building Manager for duct cleaning. No response. Buildingcleaners do not perform a thorough job.Carpets are significantly dirty <strong>and</strong> the Regional Director has requested replacement <strong>of</strong>the carpet to Director, ASD.The Atlanta Regional Office needs strong ergonomic chairs for two employees. TheRegional Director has physician documents, verifying back <strong>and</strong> spinal problems for 2employees.Several Atlanta Regional Office employees have carpel tunnel <strong>and</strong> the keyboard trayspurchased specifically for these employees do not work <strong>and</strong> need to be replaced withthose <strong>of</strong> a better quality.The Atlanta Regional Office has an extensive first aid <strong>and</strong> terrorist protection kit whichwas provided by winning a building a safety raffle.The Atlanta Regional Office manager <strong>and</strong> employees have had a significant amount <strong>of</strong>safety training provided by their building management.Boston Regional OfficeThe Boston Regional Office Director stated that he previously read <strong>and</strong> commented onFLRA drafts <strong>of</strong> safety <strong>and</strong> health policies. His most recent training was at the OGCTraining Meeting held in Kansas City in FY 2001 where the Department <strong>of</strong> Defenseprovided OGC employees information on the CAP program. Boston Regional Office hasnot received any safety or health information from Human Resources for several years.The Boston Regional Office is located in a building which is very focused on safety <strong>and</strong>security. Employees must enter the building with a security card <strong>and</strong> occupants mustcomply with key st<strong>and</strong>ards.The Boston Regional Office purchased new furniture which addressed employeecomputer <strong>and</strong> labtop vulnerabilities approximately a year ago <strong>and</strong> has addressed <strong>and</strong>decreased carpel tunnel problems <strong>of</strong> a few employees. The Boston Regional Officepreviously had some problems with air quality but this was corrected by the buildingmanager=s fixing the air conditioning system.The Boston Regional Office employees have had no work related injuries, takeadvantage <strong>of</strong> <strong>and</strong> are satisfied with their <strong>Health</strong> Services <strong>and</strong> maintain protective25
