The core services required for interagency agreements for Basic <strong>Occupational</strong> <strong>Health</strong>Center Services (BOHCS) for Federal employees include:- Walk-in Care;- Administration <strong>of</strong> ongoing interventions prescribed by the employee=s personalhealth care provider such as:-Periodic bed rest-Blood pressure monitoring-Glucose monitoring-Allergen, hormones <strong>and</strong> medication injections-Other treatments as approved;-Immunizations for influenza, tetanus/diptheria <strong>and</strong> pneumococcus. (Otherimmunizations <strong>and</strong> vaccines can be given under separate charges;- Annual basic site visit to Agency to review services being received by theAgency in areas <strong>of</strong> clinical <strong>and</strong> environmental health, wellness/fitness <strong>and</strong> theEmployee Assistance Program;- Issuance <strong>of</strong> report which documents information obtained <strong>and</strong>recommendations. This report is maintained in the Federal <strong>Occupational</strong> <strong>Health</strong>files <strong>and</strong> a copy is sent to the serviced Agency;- Provide at least 3 health education programs 30 minutes long based on <strong>Health</strong>yPeople Initiatives or defined sources <strong>of</strong> agency specific information;- Provide targeted health screening for employees on an ongoing basis. These arelimited to hypertension, glucose, lipids, vision <strong>and</strong> computerized health riskappraisals. All other screenings such as cancer or tuburculosis, are performedonly under separate agreements;- Counseling <strong>and</strong> advice to improve health is provided in response to specificclient concerns <strong>and</strong> is focused on risk factors;- Maintenance <strong>of</strong> medical records in accordance with the Privacy Act;- Referral to private physicians or community health care providers whenappropriate;- Arrangement for ambulance transportation at employee insurance or OWCPexpense; <strong>and</strong>- Referrals to Employee Assistance Program, as appropriate.11
