Conducting occupational safety <strong>and</strong> health training for top management,supervisors, safety <strong>and</strong> health program administration, employees <strong>and</strong> employeerepresentatives;11. Complying with OSHA occupational safety <strong>and</strong> health st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>and</strong> rules;12. Developing <strong>and</strong> implementing site specific safety <strong>and</strong> health programsconsistent with OSHA st<strong>and</strong>ards <strong>and</strong> rules;the13. Displaying posters conspicuously to inform employees <strong>of</strong> the provisions <strong>of</strong>OSH Act, Executive Order 12196, <strong>and</strong> Agency safety <strong>and</strong> health program under29 CFR 1960; <strong>and</strong>14. Designating an <strong>of</strong>ficial with significant authority to manage the agenciesoccupational health program.OSHA has also defined specific requirements for Federal Agencies to protect theiremployees. OSHA statutory requirements <strong>and</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ards require Federal agencies to:1. Provide employees training on safety <strong>and</strong> health issues <strong>and</strong> related hazards;2. Provide well-maintained tools <strong>and</strong> equipment, including appropriate personalprotective devices;3. Provide medical examinations;4. Report to OSHA within 8 hours <strong>of</strong> accidents that result in fatalities or thehospitalization <strong>of</strong> three or more employees;5. Keep records <strong>of</strong> work-related accidents, injuries, illnesses <strong>and</strong> their causes;6. Post OSHA posters (OSHA 3165);7. Provide employees access to their medical records <strong>and</strong> exposure reports;8. Do not engage in reprisal actions against employees who exercise their rightsunder the OSHA;9. Post OSHA citations <strong>and</strong> abatement verification notices at or near thework site; <strong>and</strong>10. Respond to OSHA survey requests.7
