Import <strong>of</strong> Cheque 2.40 Indian branches <strong>of</strong> foreign banks, insurance companies and travelBooks / Ticketagencies may import chequebooks, bank draft forms and travellersForms etc.cheque forms without a CCP. Similarly, airlines / shippingcompanies operating in India, including persons authorised by suchairlines / shipping companies, may import passenger ticket formswithout a CCP.Import <strong>of</strong> 2.41 Import Authorisation for reconditioned / second hand aircraftReconditioned/spares is not needed on recommendation <strong>of</strong> Director <strong>General</strong> <strong>of</strong>Second HandCivil Aviation, Government <strong>of</strong> India (DGCA).Aircraft SparesImport <strong>of</strong> 2.42 Goods or parts there<strong>of</strong>, on being imported and found defectiveReplacement Goodsor otherwise unfit for use or which have been damaged afterimport, may be exported without an Authorisation, and goods inreplacement there<strong>of</strong> may be supplied free <strong>of</strong> charge by foreignsuppliers or imported against a marine insurance or marine-cumerectioninsurance claim settled by an insurance company. Suchgoods shall be allowed clearance by the customs authoritieswithout an import Authorisation provided that:(a)(b)Shipment <strong>of</strong> replacement goods is made within 24 monthsfrom date <strong>of</strong> clearance <strong>of</strong> previously imported goodsthrough Customs or within guarantee period in case <strong>of</strong>machines or parts there<strong>of</strong> where such period is more than24 months; andNo remittance shall be allowed except for payment <strong>of</strong>insurance and freight charges where replacement <strong>of</strong> goodsby foreign suppliers is subject to payment <strong>of</strong> insuranceand / or freight by importer and documentary evidence tothis effect is produced while making remittance.2.42.1 In case <strong>of</strong> short-shipment, short-landing or loss in transit, import<strong>of</strong> replacement goods will be permitted based on certificate issuedby customs authorities without an import Authorisation.This procedure shall also apply to cases in which short-shipment<strong>of</strong> goods is certified by foreign supplier, who has agreed to replacefree <strong>of</strong> cost.2.42.2 Cases not covered by above provisions will be considered onmerits by DGFT for grant <strong>of</strong> Authorisation for replacement <strong>of</strong>goods for which an application may be made in ANF.Transfer <strong>of</strong> 2.43 Freely importable goods can be transferred by sale or otherwiseImported Goodsby importer freely. Transfer <strong>of</strong> imported goods, which are subjectto Actual User condition and have become surplus to needs <strong>of</strong>Actual User, shall be made only with prior permission <strong>of</strong> RA31
