They also participated in learningtracks which focused on “Treating the Treatables,”high-volume spay/neuter clinic and mobileoperations, and the business of shelter medicine.Judy Baar Topinka Announces New AdoptionProgram at PAWS ChicagoOn July 10, Illinois Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka visited PAWS Chicago’s AdoptionCenter to announce ‘Comptroller’s Critters,’ a program designed to bring petowners together with shelters – and ultimately provide loving homes for animals.Launched by Topinka, the Critters program allows Illinois animal shelters, like PAWSChicago, to feature adoptable pets on the Illinois Office of the Comptroller website.Potential adopters are then able to use the website as a one-stop-shop to identifya pet they’d like to meet, and contact the appropriate shelter to take the next stepstoward adoption.8
