We are required to tell yousome important features of your policy including:Policy Wording BookletThis policy wording booklet gives you full details of the cover and the conditions you must satisfy to ensure you are fully covered. Please read this carefully,especially the Declaration on pages 3 and 4. Call us on 0800 169 9999 if you need any further help and advice.Conditions and ExclusionsThere are conditions and exclusions which applyto individual Sections of the policy and generalexclusions which apply to the whole policy – see pages 24 to 28.EligibilityTo be eligible for this insurance:• you must be a full United Kingdom resident and;• have a United Kingdom home address and;• your trip must start and finish in the United Kingdom.Age LimitYou must be under 65 years of age on the date ofpurchasing the policy.Maximum <strong>Trip</strong> DurationThe maximum trip duration is 12 months. The maximumtrip duration you have purchased cover for will be shownon your policy schedule. <strong>Your</strong> policy schedule will alsoshow you when your cover starts and finishes.Limit of <strong>Cover</strong>Each Section of the policy shows the most you canclaim, but other limits may apply. For example, under thePersonal Belongings Section the overall cover is £1,500but there is a lower limit for valuables of £300 for anyone item. Please note that the cover limits shown undereach section of the policy are the maximum amountsyou can claim under that section for the whole durationof the period of insurance. Please check your policycarefully to ensure you have adequate cover.Looking After <strong>Your</strong> BelongingsYou should take all reasonable care to protect your belongings and act as if you are not insured. If you do not do this we may not pay your claim.Cancellation RightsYou can cancel this policy within 14 days from thedate you receive the policy wording booklet and policyschedule. We will then refund your premium in full.No refund of premium is available after the 14-dayperiod. This means that each insured personwill be responsible for the first part of their claim foreach event. We will not pay the first £125 for any loss,charge or expense incurred in respect of each claimunder Section 5 - Medical Emergency and AssociatedExpenses unless you have paid an additional premiumto reduce the excess to £50. <strong>Your</strong> policy schedule willconfirm if you have selected this reduced excess option.The maximum excess you and your family will pay inrespect of any one event claimed for is £100 apartfrom Section 5 – Medical, Emergency and AssociatedExpenses where the maximum is £250.6 7


Contract of <strong>Insurance</strong>ComplaintsThis policy contains a complaints procedure, whichtells you what steps you can take if you wish to makea complaint – see page 27.Making a ClaimTo help us deal quickly and efficiently with your claim,please read the claims procedure in Part G and theGeneral Conditions and Exclusions on pages 24 to 28.This tells you what documents you will need to supportyour claim. Some documents may be needed to supportyour claim; for example, for certain claims, a policereport must be obtained while you are on your trip.Medical EmergencyIf you need assistance in the event of a medical emergency,please contact Assistance International immediately (seepage 4). Please read Section 5 – Medical Emergency andAssociated Expenses on page 15 of this policy for details.Pregnancy and ChildbirthThis policy has been designed to cover most eventswhich may happen during your trip, but we cannotcover all expenses and possibilities. Under Section5 – Medical Emergency and Associated Expenses weprovide cover for necessary and reasonable expensescaused by your illness, injury or death commencingduring the period of insurance. We do not considerpregnancy or childbirth to be an illness or injury.However, we only provide cover under Sections 1,5, 6 & 7 – Cancellation and Curtailment, MedicalEmergency and Associated Expenses, Hospital Benefitand Personal Accident of this policy, for claims thatarise from complications of pregnancy and childbirth.Reciprocal Health AgreementIf you are travelling to a European Union Country youshould apply for a European Health <strong>Insurance</strong> Card(EHIC) available from your local <strong>Post</strong> <strong>Office</strong> ® branchor by visiting www.dh.gov.uk/travellers to apply online.The EHIC allows you to receive free or reduced costemergency medical care in most European countriesfrom the equivalent of the National Health Servicein the country you are visiting. If you make use ofthese arrangements or any other worldwide reciprocalhealth arrangement and your claim under the MedicalEmergency and Associated Expenses Section is reduced,you will not have to pay any excess under this Section.Geographical Areas(applicable when selecting thecorrect policy type for your destination)Area 1 Europe – all European countries includingEire (Republic of Ireland), Russia (west of the UralMountains), islands in the Mediterranean, the Azores,the Canary Islands, Madeira, Iceland, Turkey, Israel,Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.Area 2 Worldwide – including all destinations notcovered by Area 1 but excluding any cover for the USA, Canada or the Caribbean.Area 3 Worldwide – including all destinations notcovered by Areas 1 and 2, inclusive of the USA,Canada and the Caribbean.StopoversYou will be covered on this policy for in-transitstopovers to a higher rated geographical area, aslong as the number of days spent within those higherrated areas does not exceed 7 days during the periodof insurance.Home visitsYou will be allowed to make a single return trip tothe United Kingdom with a maximum duration of 14days during the period of insurance (excluding anyreturn trip for which a claim is being made as a resultof medical emergency, repatriation or curtailment).All cover ends on clearance of customs in your homecountry and starts again after the baggage check inat your international departure point for your returnflight, international train or ferry to your overseasdestination. The time that coverfor particular Sections starts and ends is given inmore detail below.• Cancellation cover starts at the date and time of issuerecorded as part of your application and as shown onyour policy confirmation, and ends when you leavehome for your initial departure from the UK.• All other cover begins when you leave home to go onyour trip and lasts until you arrive home, as long as thatis within the period of insurance paid for. The maximumduration of any trip is 365 days. The insurance is onlyvalid if you have insured the whole duration of your trip.There is no cover under Section 11 - Personal liability for those sports or activities marked with*10 11


Contract of <strong>Insurance</strong>• All cover ends when you return home if we paya claim for the curtailment of your trip, or if werepatriate you home.• If you have paid the appropriate premium toinclude winter sports your policy schedule will showthat you have this cover and the period of coverprovided. The maximum period of cover providedfor winter sports is 14 or 28 days in total during theperiod of insurance depending on the number ofdays cover you have paid for. <strong>Cover</strong> is provided formore than one winter sports trip provided you donot exceed the total number of days paid for.• We will extend the period of insurance by up to 30 days, at no extra cost, if you have to stay on yourtrip longer because of events which you have nocontrol over. If the transport you are on is hijacked,we will automatically provide worldwide cover. We will pay you up to £5,000 for unused travel andaccommodation charges (including unused kennel andcattery expenses up to £250) which are not recoverableelsewhere and which you have paid or contracted topay should you have to cancel your trip before youleave your home or place of business as a result of thefollowing commencing during the period of insurance:(a) <strong>Your</strong> death, injury or illness or that of yourtravelling companion (not including a tourleader or someone you have paid to provide anypart of your trip), the person you are going tostay with, a close relative or business associate.(b) You or your travelling companion being required bythe police to stay at home as a result of burglary,or serious damage by fire, explosion, subsidence,storm flooding, vandalism, fallen tree or impact byaircraft or vehicle to your or their home or usualplace of business in the United Kingdom.(c) You or your travelling companion being requiredfor jury service or as a witness in a court of lawin the United Kingdom.(d) You being made involuntarily redundant if youare under 65 and have 2 years’ continuousemployment with the same employer.(e) You or your travelling companion havingagreed leave subsequently cancelled by theemergency services or armed forces, foroperational reasons. This cover does not applyto cancellation of leave due to war, invasion, actsof terrorism, hostilities (whether war be declaredor not), civil unrest, revolution, rebellion, act offoreign enemy or any similar event.2. We will pay you up to £5,000 for expenseswhich you have paid or legally have to pay fortravel (including pre-paid excursion fees) andaccommodation which you do not use if you cut short your trip as a result of:(a) <strong>Your</strong> death, injury or illness or that of yourtravelling companion, the person you are going to stay with, a close relative or business associate.(b) You or your travelling companion being required bythe police to stay at home as a result of burglary,or serious damage by fire, explosion, subsidence,storm flooding, vandalism, fallen tree or impact byaircraft or vehicle to your or their home or usualplace of business in the United Kingdom.(c) You becoming injured or ill and being admittedto hospital for the rest of your trip.As well as the general conditions and exclusions on pages24 to 28 the following conditions and exclusions apply.Cancellation and Curtailment Exclusions1. You are not covered for claims caused directly orindirectly from the following:(a) Any circumstances you were aware of at the timethis insurance was purchased, or at the time ofbooking your trip, which later led to your trip beingcancelled or cut short, unless we agreed in writing,before the trip, to cover it.(b) Booking and/or travelling against the advice of a doctor.(c) <strong>Your</strong> disinclination to travel.(d) You not having the correct passport, visa orother entry documents.(e) <strong>Your</strong> decision not to go or continue with the trip for reasons other than those listed above.(f) <strong>Your</strong> suicide, attempted suicide, intentional selfinjuryor deliberate exposure to danger (unlessin an attempt to save someone’s life).(g) You being under the influence of alcohol, solventsor drugs (except drugs prescribed by a doctorother than for the treatment of drug abuse).(h) You taking part in manual work in connection with a profession, business or trade.(Curtailment only).(i) <strong>Your</strong> pregnancy or childbirth, unless a doctor/qualified medical practitioner confirms that theclaim comes from complications of pregnancy orchildbirth. If you become pregnant after we havesold you this policy, and you will be more than 32weeks pregnant at the start of, or during, yourtrip and you still choose to travel, you may notclaim for cutting short your trip unless as a resultof the complications of pregnancy or childbirth.12 13

If you are travelling within the United Kingdom wewill pay you up to £10,000 for any necessary andreasonable expenses caused by your illness, injury ordeath occurring during the period of insurance for:(a) Extra travel and accommodation expenses if you are advised by a doctor that such travel or accommodation is necessary.(b) Extra travel and accommodation expenseswhere a doctor has advised it is necessary for one person to stay with you or to travel to be with you if you are seriously ill or injured.(c) The extra cost of bringing your body or ashes home.(d) Extra expenses necessarily incurred to transferyou by ambulance to a hospital or nursinghome nearer your home.(e) Extra expenses necessarily incurred to recoveryour car and your personal belongings to yourhome if you and no other person travelling withyou at the time of your discharge from hospitalare able to drive the car.Section 6 – Hospital BenefitIf you are travelling outside the United Kingdom wewill pay you up to £800 (£15 for each completed 24 hour period) if you are kept in hospital during the period of insurance as an in-patient. Any amountyou receive under this Section will be in additionto any amount that you receive under the MedicalEmergency and Associated Expenses Section. You are not covered for claims arising directly or indirectly from any of the following:(a) Any circumstances you were aware of at thetime this insurance was bought, or at the timeof booking a trip that would result in the tripbeing cancelled or cut short, unless, before thetrip, we agreed in writing to cover it.(b) Where you have travelled against the adviceof a doctor or in order to obtain medicaltreatment or advice abroad.(c) Any treatment or surgery which our medicaladvisers reasonably believe is not essential or could wait until your return home.(d) Any treatment or surgery or exploratory testswhich are not directly related to the illness or injuryfor which you originally went into hospital (unlessagreed by Assistance International beforehand).(e) Cosmetic or elective surgery.(f) Expenses incurred in obtaining or replacingmedication or obtaining treatment or ongoingregular therapy, which at the time of departureis known to be required or to be continuedwhilst you are away.(g) Any extra costs incurred for a single or privateroom unless medically necessary.(h) Treatment or services provided by a healthspa, convalescent or nursing home or anyrehabilitation centre.(i) Repairs to or the provision of dentures orartificial teeth or any dental work involving the use of precious metals.(j) Any claim arising from motorcycling where youare the driver or passenger unless you or thedriver holds a current and valid licence whichallows you or them to ride a motorcycle andyou are wearing a helmet.(k) <strong>Your</strong> suicide, attempted suicide, intentionalself-injury or deliberate exposure to danger(unless in an attempt to save someone’s life).(l) You being under the influence of solvents or drugsor their effects (except drugs prescribed by a doctorother than for treatment of drug abuse) or where inthe opinion of the treating doctor excessive alcoholconsumption has caused the injury or illness.(m) Any claim resulting directly or indirectly fromyou participating in any hazardous activity.(n) The cost of medical treatment you receive inthe United Kingdom or the country where younormally live.(o) You taking part in manual work in connectionwith a profession, business or trade.(p) <strong>Your</strong> pregnancy or childbirth, unless a doctor/qualified medical practitioner confirms that theclaim comes from complications of pregnancyor childbirth.(q) Expenses incurred as a result of a tropicaldisease when you have not had therecommended inoculations and/or taken therecommended medication.(r) Further costs you incur if we wish to bringyou home early but you refuse (where in theopinion of the treating doctor and AssistanceInternational you are fit to travel).2. We will not pay the first £125 for any loss, chargeor expense incurred in respect of each claim underSection 5 - Medical Emergency and AssociatedExpenses unless you have paid an additional premiumto reduce the excess to £50. The maximum excessyou and your family will pay in respect of any oneevent claimed for is £250.Conditions Applying to Sections 5, 6 & 7 –Medical Emergency and Associated Expenses,Hospital Benefit and Personal Accident1. Assistance International must be called immediatelyor as soon as reasonably possible to authorise anyexpenses for medical treatment abroad or if youhave to return home early. If you do not do this we may not pay your claim.2. You must not arrange in-flight medical care foryour return journey without the permission ofAssistance International. Our medical advisers will consult with the doctors treating you to decideif this is reasonably necessary and will make themost appropriate arrangements for you.3. We reserve the right to limit payment to what ourmedical advisers deems to be reasonable and wemay instruct you to return home if our medicaladvisers and the doctors treating you decide onreasonable grounds that you are fit to travel. Ifyou choose instead to remain abroad, our liabilityto pay any further costs under this section afterthat date will be limited to what we would havepaid if your repatriation had taken place.Conditions Applying to Section 7 – Personal Accident1. We will not pay you personal accident benefits formore than one benefit to any one insured personfor injuries caused by one accident.2. If you make a claim, you must allow our medicaladvisers to examine you as often as they need to.(We will pay any costs and your expenses for theseexaminations if we accept your claim.)16 17


Contract of <strong>Insurance</strong>Section 8 – Personal BelongingsIf you accidentally lose or damage your personalbelongings or they are stolen, during the period ofinsurance, you can claim up to £1,500 to replace orrepair them (after any suitable deduction for wear and tear and depreciation if applicable).You can claim up to £300 for any one item, pair orset. The overall limit for valuables is £300. If yourpersonal belongings are temporarily lost for morethan 12 hours on the outward journey from theUnited Kingdom we will pay you up to £250 forthe purchase of necessary items. If your baggage ispermanently lost we will deduct any payment madefor temporary loss from the final settlement. Allreceipts must be produced as proof of purchase.You will need to report your loss and obtain proof. Aswell as the general conditions and exclusions on pages24 to 28, the following exclusions apply to Section 8.Personal Belongings Exclusions1. We will not pay for:(a) More than £300 per person in total for valuables.(b) More than £300 per person for any one article,pair or set of articles.(c) More than £250 in total for cigarettes, tobacco and/or alcohol purchased by you during the period ofinsurance and for your own personal consumption.(d) Breakage of or damage to fragile articles (except lenses in cameras, binoculars, telescopes,or spectacles), prosthetics or dentures and anyother loss caused by the breakage.(e) Loss, theft of or damage to valuables which youhave left in baggage checked in by a carrier.(f) Loss or theft of valuables left at any time in an unattended vehicle.(g) Loss or theft of or damage to valuables youare not carrying with you unless you have keptthem in a locked accommodation, a safe or a safety deposit box.(h) Loss or theft of or damage to personalbelongings if they have been left unattendedin a vehicle, unless they are locked out ofsight in the boot of the vehicle or the luggagecompartment of an estate or hatchback andthere is evidence of violent and forcible entry.(i) There is no cover for personal belongings left in a vehicle overnight.(j) Films, cassettes, cartridges or disks other thanfor their value as unused material, unlesspurchased pre-recorded, when we will pay up to the retail list price.(k) Perishable goods, bottles, cartons or any otherloss caused by their breakage.(l) Pedal cycles, wheelchairs, prams, pushchairs or baby buggies other than while they arebeing conveyed by public transport.(m) Contact or corneal lenses.(n) Winter sports equipment (this is covered under Section 18 if the appropriate wintersports premium has been paid).(o) <strong>Your</strong> personal belongings being delayed, detainedor confiscated by customs or other officials.(p) <strong>Your</strong> personal belongings being lost or damagedas a result of wear and tear, depreciation invalue, atmospheric conditions, mechanicalfailure or damage caused by moth or vermin orany process of cleaning, repairing or restoring.(q) Breakage of or damage to sports equipmentwhile in use.(r) Claims arising where you fail to exercisereasonable care for the safety and supervisionof your property.(s) Claims where you fail to obtain a written policereport within 24 hours of the discovery in theevent of loss or theft.(t) Claims where you fail to obtain a carrier’sreport or in the case of an airline a ‘PropertyIrregularity Report’ where your property hasbeen lost or damaged in transit.N.B. If you cannot report the loss, theft or damageto the airline straight away, you must do so in writingwithin seven days.2. We will not pay the first £50 for any loss, charge orexpense incurred in respect of each claim under thisSection. The maximum excess you and your family willpay in respect of any one event claimed for is £100.Section 9 – Personal Moneyand DocumentsWe will pay you up to £500 (limited to £250 inrespect of cash) if your personal money is lost orstolen during the period of insurance. <strong>Cover</strong> underthis Section commences from the time you receiveyour personal money or 72 hours before you leavehome to commence your trip, whichever is later. Youwill need to report your loss and obtain proof. Aswell as the exclusions below, please read the policyconditions and exclusions on pages 24 to 28.Section 10 – Loss of PassportWe will pay you up to £250 for necessary andreasonable extra travel accommodation andcommunication expenses outside of Great Britain,Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man involved ingetting a replacement passport or visa if it is lost or stolen during the period of insurance.You will need to report your loss and obtain proof – please read the policy conditions and exclusions on pages 24 to 28. As well as the general conditions and exclusions on pages 24 to 28, the followingexclusions apply to Sections 9 and 10.Personal Money and Loss of Passport Exclusions1. We will not pay for:(a) More than £250 for loss of cash.(b) Loss of personal money unless it is with you atthe time, in a locked safe or safety deposit boxor locked in the accommodation you are usingon your journey.(c) Loss caused by depreciation in value or shortage caused by error or omission.(d) Loss of travellers’ cheques if you have notcomplied with the issuer’s conditions or wherethe issuer provides a replacement service.(e) Loss or theft of ski lift pass.(f) <strong>Your</strong> personal money being delayed, detained or confiscated by customs or other officials.(g) Claims arising where you fail to exercisereasonable care for the safety and supervisionof your property.(h) Claims where you fail to obtain a written policereport within 24 hours of the discovery in theevent of loss or theft.(i) Any expenses in connection with loss ofpassport, arising after you have returned tothe United Kingdom.(j) Loss or theft of money which you have left inbaggage checked in by the carrier or left in anunattended vehicle.2. We will not pay the first £50 for any loss, chargeor expense incurred in respect of each claim underSection 9 - Personal Money and Documents andSection 10 - Loss of Passport. The maximumexcess you and your family will pay in respect ofany one event claimed for is £100.Section 11 – Personal Liability(If you are using a motorised or mechanical vehicle,while on your journey you must make sure that youhave the necessary insurance. We do not cover thisunder personal liability.)We will pay up to £2,000,000 in respect of any one occurrence and in total for accidental bodilyinjury to another person or accidental damage tosomeone else’s property occurring during the periodof insurance which you legally have to pay. This coveris only for;• accidental bodily injury to another person who is not your employee, close relative or travelling companion• accidental damage to someone else’s property otherthan the property of your employee, close relativeor your travelling companion.We will also pay for your legal expenses and anyclaimant’s costs payable but we must first give our written consent to this.As well as the general conditions and exclusions on pages 24 to 28, the following exclusions and conditions apply to Section 11.Personal Liability Exclusions1. We will not pay for:(a) Liability caused directly or indirectly by youowning, or the use of, animals (except domesticanimals), firearms (except licensed sportingguns used for recreational purposes only), anyaircraft, motorised vehicle, boat or any otherform of motorised leisure equipment (unlessit is a boat designed for and being used asaccommodation and is permanently moored).18 19


Contract of <strong>Insurance</strong>(b) Employer’s liability or liability caused by carryingout contracts, supplying goods and services, or you doing your job.Conditions Applying to Personal Liability1. You must send us any writ, court claim form orother legal documents as soon as you receivethem. You must also give us any information andhelp we need to deal with the case and your claim.You must not negotiate, pay, settle, admit or denyany claim without our written agreement.Section 12 – Legal Expenses(If you have to make a claim under this Section,please follow the claims procedure on page 28.)The following definitions only apply to this Section.We, us, ourDate ofoccurrenceRepresentativeLegal costsPeriod ofinsuranceInsuredincidentDAS Legal Expenses <strong>Insurance</strong>Company Limited.The date of occurrence is the dateof the event that leads to a claim.If there is more than one eventarising at different times but fromthe same originating cause, thedate of occurrence is the date ofthe first of these events.The lawyer, or other suitablyqualified person, who we haveappointed to act for you in linewith the conditions of this section.All reasonable and necessary costscharged by the representative ona standard basis, or in accordancewith the predictable costs scheme,if this is appropriate. It also includesthe opponent’s costs in civil cases ifyou have to pay them or if you paythem with our agreement.The period for which we haveagreed to cover you.An event that leads to a claimbeing made under this section of your policy.What you are covered for:Up to £25,000 for all necessary legal costs incurredby the representative following an event which causesthe death of, or bodily injury to, you.This is the most we will pay for all claims resultingfrom one or more events arising at the same time or from the same originating cause.Note:We agree to provide legal expenses cover, keeping to the conditions and exclusions, as long as:1. It is always more likely than not that you willrecover damages (or obtain any other legalremedy which we have agreed to) or make asuccessful defence. Before we pay legal costs forappeals, we must agree that it is always morelikely than not that an appeal will be successful;2. If you use a representative, we will pay the legalcosts for this;3. Any legal proceedings will be dealt with by a courtor other body which we agree to; and4. The date of occurrence of the insured incidentmust be during the period of insurance.What you are NOT covered for:As well as the general conditions and exclusions onpages 24 to 28, the following exclusions apply:1. The failure to notify us of the insured incidentwithin a reasonable time of it happening, andwhere this failure adversely affects the prospectof successfully recovering damages (or getting anyother legal remedy that we have agreed to) or ofmaking a successful defence.2. Any legal costs incurred before we agree to pay them.3. Any claim relating to the following:• Any illness which develops gradually or is notcaused by a specific or sudden accident• You driving a motor vehicle for which you donot have valid motor insurance• Judicial review, coroner’s inquest or fatalaccident inquiry.4. Defending your legal rights (but defending acounter claim is covered.)5. Any disagreement with us that is not in condition17 of this section.6. Any legal action you take which we or therepresentative have not agreed to or where youdo anything that has a negative effect on us orthe representative.7. Any legal action against the travel agent, tour operator,carrier or any of the insurers listed on page 12.8. Fines, penalties, compensation or damages whichyou are ordered to pay by a court or other authority.9. Any legal costs that you have to pay under acontingency fee arrangement (a contingencyfee arrangement is when the lawyer takes apercentage of the damages as the fee).10. Any insured incident intentionally brought about by you.11. Any claim relating to your alleged dishonesty oralleged violent behaviour. Also, any claim that isfraudulent or exaggerated.12. Any claim relating to written or spoken commentswhich damage your reputation.13. An incident or matter arising before the start ofcover under this section.ConditionsAs well as the general conditions on pages 24 to 28,the following conditions apply:1. You must give us full and truthful details by phoneor in writing of any claim as soon as possible andgive us any information we need.2. We can take over and conduct, in your name, anyclaim or legal proceedings at any time. We cannegotiate any claim on your behalf.3. You are free to choose a representative (by sendingus a suitably qualified person’s name and address) if:(a) we agree to start legal proceedings and itbecomes necessary for a lawyer to representyour interests in those proceedings; or(b) there is a conflict of interest.4. In all circumstances (except those in 3 above), we are free to choose a representative.5. Any representative will be appointed by us torepresent you according to our standard terms ofappointment, which may include a ‘no win, no fee’agreement. The representative must co-operatefully with us at all times.6. We will have direct contact with the representative.7. You must co-operate fully with us and therepresentative, and must keep us up to date withthe progress of the claim.8. You must give the representative any instructionsthat we ask for.9. You must tell us if anyone offers to settle the claim.10. If you do not accept a reasonable offer to settle aclaim, we may refuse to pay further legal costs.11. You must not negotiate or agree to settle a claimwithout our written approval.12. We may decide to pay you the amount ofdamages that you are claiming or that is beingclaimed against you instead of starting orcontinuing legal proceedings.13. If we ask, you must tell the representative to havelegal costs taxed, assessed or audited.14. You must take every step to recover any legalcosts that we have to pay and must pay us anylegal costs that you recover.15. If your representative refuses to continue actingfor you with good reason or if you dismiss yourrepresentative without good reason, the cover weprovide will end immediately, unless we agree toappoint another representative.16. If you settle a claim or withdraw it without ouragreement, or do not give suitable instructions toyour representative, the cover we provide will endimmediately and we will be entitled to reclaim anylegal costs we have paid.17. If there is a disagreement about the way wehandle a claim that is not resolved through ourinternal complaints procedure, you can contactthe Financial Ombudsman Service for help.18. We may ask you to get (at your own expense) anopinion from a lawyer, or other suitably qualifiedperson chosen by you and us about whether aclaim or proceedings will be successful. If thechosen person believes that it is more likely thannot you will recover damages (or reach a solutionthat we have agreed to) or make a successfuldefence, we will pay the cost of getting the opinion.19. Youwill need to give the <strong>Post</strong> <strong>Office</strong> ® travel assistancehelpline your credit or charge card details.30
