The same procedure was used asfor Me 2Im + Tf 2N - . From 2.38 g (8.68 mmol) of 1,3-Et 2-4-MeIm + TfO -and 2.49 g (8.68 mmol) of LiTf 2N, there was obtained 3.52 g ofEt 2MeIm + Tf 2N - (67%). 1H-NMR (acetone-d 3, δ/ppm relative toTMS): 8.96 (d, 1H, J ) 1.5 Hz), 7.51 (s, 1H), 4.30 (m, 2H, J ) 9.2and 2.5 Hz), 2.43 (d, 3H, J ) 1.5 Hz), 1.55 (t, 6H, J ) 9.0 Hz).1,3-Dimethylimidazolium Trifluoroacetate (1,3-Me 2Im + TA - ). A5.079 g (22.67 mmol) sample of 1,3-Me 2Im + I - and 5.007 g (22.67mmol) of silver trifluoroacetate (Fluka, prurum) were diluted in 50mL of water each and mixed. After 1hofstirring at 70 °C, the silveriodide was filtered off and the solution, concentrated under 12 mbarof pressure. The salt was dried2hat50°C under 0.1 mbar of pressure.Yield: 4.70 g (98.7%). 1H-NMR (acetone-d 3, δ/ppm relative toTMS): 9.78 (s, 1H), 7.75 (d, 2H, J ) 2.0 Hz), 4.06 (s, 6H).1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium Trifluoroacetate (EtMeIm + TA - ).The same procedure was used as for 1,3-Me 2Im + TA - . From 4.342 g(22.72 mmol) of EtMeIm + Br - and 5.019 g (22.72 mmol) of AgTA - ,there was obtained 4.92 g of EtMeIm + TA - (96.6%). Anal.
