AUTOMATED FACE RECOGNITION SYSTEMMachine based face recognition can never surpass human facial recognition systemdue to obvious reasons. There is, and will remain a room for improvement in terms ofefficiency or optimal recognition results. One of the major dilemmas of facial recognitionis its computational complexity. The problem is aggravated further for increased database even using state of the art machines.In this project, Discrete Wavelet Transform will be applied prior to automate facerecognition algorithm that would reduce its computational complexity by a factor of fourwith negligible degradation in results. The family of Daubechies will be investigated andgood bases in terms of efficiency with in the family of Daubechies will be executed inAFR.Automated face recognition (AFR) is computationally complex and ill posed problemthat needs to be addressed for real time applications. High resolution images enhancethe computation complexity and envisage large feature vectors to be processed.Another dilemma in this area is that high dimensionality hampers the classification andsubsequently decision making process for recognition.A number of dimensionality reduction techniques exist such as Principal ComponentAnalysis, yet even the optimal technique that exist in literature does not suffice thedimensionality reduction needs for real time scenario with limited resources. Theoptimal wavelet basis for face recognition has yet not been explored in the literature andis open for research. Therefore there is a dire need to use an appropriate transform withnear optimal basis coupled with some optimal dimensionality reduction technique priorto feature extraction for face recognition.Various dimensionality reduction techniques that include Multiresolution Analysis, Eigenspaces, Principal Components Analysis, Discrete transformations and feature extractiontechniques suitable for pattern recognition. The projects on face recognition alreadyconducted are manual and lack applications in real time applications. The saidapplication encompasses state of the art dimensionality reduction techniques that wouldreduce computational complexity with a view to enhance its applications in real timepractical applications. Design and Development of Wireless Fingerprint Recognition based AttendanceSystemA wireless fingerprint attendance system is to be designed and implemented. Thissystem is an application of the fingerprint verifying and RF wireless techniques and it ismainly used for person identification. Attending people finish their attendances bypressing their fingerprints on sensor. After fingerprints' matching, system can transmitusers' attending records to managing PC in three modes: immediately, timing orresponse.
