SCA Compliant HF Waveform Development for S<strong>of</strong>tware Defined RadioS<strong>of</strong>tware Defined Radio (SDR) is one <strong>of</strong> the upcoming technologies <strong>and</strong> is redefiningthe current l<strong>and</strong>scape <strong>of</strong> wireless communications in both military <strong>and</strong> commercialsectors. The rapidly evolving capabilities <strong>of</strong> digital electronics are making it possible toexecute significant amounts <strong>of</strong> signal processing on general purpose processors ratherthan using special-purpose hardware. In this project we have designed <strong>and</strong> developedSCA compliant HF waveform for S<strong>of</strong>tware Define Radio. For that purpose we developedHF operated s<strong>of</strong>tware based transmitter <strong>and</strong> receiver on GNU Radio companion usingdifferent modulation, error correction <strong>and</strong> scrambling techniques that enabled efficient<strong>and</strong> reliable delivery <strong>of</strong> digital data that in our case is voice over unreliablecommunication channels. The output <strong>of</strong> GNU is transmitted through USRP containingHF daughterboard LFTX <strong>and</strong> received through LFRX both acting as RF front ends.Transmitter <strong>and</strong> Receiver implemented on GNU are ported to OSSIE.Syndicate Members: GC Wassem AhmedNC Sohail NawazNC Muneeb AhmedSupervisor:Lt Col.
