in Mind service is keen to work with carers to help you identify and use personal strengths to improve your ownresilience and help you manage stress levels.In the past you may have had difficulties getting practical help for these common issues but now Health in Mindhave teamed up with your local GP. We have effectively bridged the gap between you visiting your GP surgery andaccessing Talking Therapies (Psychological Therapies), helping you unravel your difficulties with neutral andeffective support.Health in Mind is delivered in partnership with Turning Point and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.Referral Process: If you are experiencing emotional or psychological difficulties we strongly recommend youcontact your GP who will put you in touch with one of our Primary Care Mental Health Workers. The service is available to ante-natal mothers and children under the age of 5. We canoffer advice, support and guidance around the following: Health Promotion Accident Prevention Immunisation Children’s Development Weaning Play & Activity Neonatal Hearing Behaviour Management Sleep Management Enuresis Management Feeding Contraception Parenting Safeguarding Maternal Mental Health Sexual HealthWe support families where there are children with special needs; advice and support to families suffering from postnatal depression and families where domestic violence exists. We work in partnership with local agencies tosupport and protect children under safeguarding policy. The service is staffed by Health Visitors (qualified nurseswith at least 2 yrs practice experience who undertake extra training to become a Health Visitor), health visiting staffnurses, qualified Nursery Nurses & Support Workers/Health Care Worker who has undertaken training in specificareas and is supervised by a qualified nurse. The service is offered from Health Centres, Children’s Centres,Community Venues, and GP Surgeries. The Children’s services are open to feedback from users and partner’sagencies about their experience of the services, quality of the services and access to the services.Referral Process / Criteria: All families have access to the Health Visiting service, it is a universal service andanyone can refer.
