in Mind service is keen to work with carers to help you identify <strong>and</strong> use personal strengths to improve your ownresilience <strong>and</strong> help you manage stress levels.In the past you may have had difficulties getting practical help for these common issues but now Health in Mindhave teamed up with your local GP. We have effectively bridged the gap between you visiting your GP surgery <strong>and</strong>accessing Talking Therapies (Psychological Therapies), helping you unravel your difficulties with neutral <strong>and</strong>effective support.Health in Mind is delivered in partnership with Turning Point <strong>and</strong> Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.Referral Process: If you are experiencing emotional or psychological difficulties we strongly recommend youcontact your GP who will put you in touch with one of our Primary Care Mental Health Workers. The service is available to ante-natal mothers <strong>and</strong> children under the age of 5. We canoffer advice, support <strong>and</strong> guidance around the following: Health Promotion Accident Prevention Immunisation Children’s Development Weaning Play & Activity Neonatal Hearing Behaviour Management Sleep Management Enuresis Management Feeding Contraception Parenting Safeguarding Maternal Mental Health Sexual HealthWe support families where there are children with special needs; advice <strong>and</strong> support to families suffering from postnatal depression <strong>and</strong> families where domestic violence exists. We work in partnership with local agencies tosupport <strong>and</strong> protect children under safeguarding policy. The service is staffed by Health Visitors (qualified nurseswith at least 2 yrs practice experience who undertake extra training to become a Health Visitor), health visiting staffnurses, qualified Nursery Nurses & Support Workers/Health Care Worker who has undertaken training in specificareas <strong>and</strong> is supervised by a qualified nurse. The service is offered from Health Centres, Children’s Centres,Community Venues, <strong>and</strong> GP Surgeries. The Children’s services are open to feedback from users <strong>and</strong> partner’sagencies about their experience of the services, quality of the services <strong>and</strong> access to the services.Referral Process / Criteria: All families have access to the Health Visiting service, it is a universal service <strong>and</strong>anyone can refer.
