Because of our efforts, a total of 32 peoplewill enter the new year with basic things we all takefor granted: winter coats, boots, clothing, blankets, pillows, dishes, silverware--and the list goes on andon. On December 21, six vans and a pick-up truck cameto my home and loaded their vehicles with all thepurchased goods. One of the social workers toldme, as she was looking at all the gifts for a particularfamily, that at the beginning of the school year, shebought a pair of uniform pants for one of the boysbecause he was sharing one pair with his brother! She emphasized that our gifts will make a significantdifference in this family’s daily life. This year the Needy Family Program became a synagogue-wideevent. The nursery school donated theTzedakah they collect weekly and the religiousschool collected personal hygiene items for the sponsoredfamilies as well as for other families in need inthe New Brunswick area. After all these years, itstill amazes me how this program continues to grow. This program is a success due to the generosity ofthose who participate. Thanks to all who donatedmoney.
