COTTON PARISH COUNCIL REPORT Colin Hall
An application to build a single storey extension at Dandy Hall, Willow
Lane, was supported by the Parish Council as was the application
to build a two storey extension to the rear of Lime Tree Farm,
Parkers Road. The application to demolish two dwellings at 1-2
Broadway House, Broad Road and erect 4 dwellings was supported
by the Council provided that concerns over vehicular access onto
Blacksmith Road and Broad Road are satisfactorily addressed.
It has been brought to the Council’s attention that some hedgerows in the
village are becoming overgrown which is causing problems especially at
road junctions. It would be greatly appreciated if property owners would
trim back hedges on a regular basis.
Dr. Dan Poulter our MP is due to attend the Community Café at Cotton
Village Hall on Saturday 27 th October between 10.00am &12.00 noon.
October at 7.30pm in the village hall.
In Memoriam
John Miles 14th June 1958 - 8th August 2012
John was buried at St Andrews Church Cotton on August the 23rd
The funeral service was held at Cotton Methodist Chapel
We were all shocked and saddened by the sudden and unexpected demise of
John Miles who was our friend, very well known and a respected member of the
community.
A Cotton man born and bred, who had a genuine love of the land and machinery,
especially tractors of which he had rebuilt many.
Kind and humorous, always there to give a helping hand, coping with our tears as he
helped with the burial of our dogs, a friend indeed.
John was well loved as the enormous attendance at his funeral proved.
John will be sorely missed, he has gone - but will never be forgotten.
