BastardAll the films that will be screened illustrate this vitality, diversity and the hope thatremains against all odds. A long road still remains to be paved and cinema is there towitness and document the history of our country and our continent.In 1997, three young unknown producers: Jeremy Nathan, Pedro Pimenta and myself,respectively from South Africa, Mozambique and Tunisia, had a dream. We were attending theRotterdam Film festival and thought of producing a South/South series which would innovateand enhance African cinema. Our dream came true and gave birth to 'Africa Dreaming,' a PanAfrican series from six countries, a great success but unfortunately, short-lived.Let’s hope that this dream can live again and become the norm between Africancountries.Dora BouchouchaCurator36th Durban International Film Festival15
