I am writing about somethingwhich, I believe, will bea legacy for my future child--planting a tree.We have long depended onthese sturdy and beautifulcreations, yet we have oftenneglected them for the longesttime.If you ask how many peopleare familiar or have seen themajestic trees of Mother Earth,chances are, you will get anoverwhelming majority of “yes”answer.Try asking how many havetried planting one and figureout how slim the response willbe.Last Saturday, The Kapisananng mga Brodkaster ngPilipinas or KBP once againspearheaded a project that is forthe next generation to appreciateand enjoy. Called “Oplan:Broadcastreeing”, it is a nationwidesimultaneous tree plantingproject of the KBP.Headed by KBP PampangaChapter Chairman FernandoR. Pangan, with the help of alllocal government and non-governmentagencies, KBP has successfullyplanted 2,000 bambooseedlings in Barangays Apalitand Consuelo in Floridablancatown on its third year of dedicationin building a better world,aptly themed “Urban GreeningProject.”Bamboos are one of thefastest-growing plants in theworld and the sturdiest of themall.
