Theemergence of commissioning as a key factor inshaping the changing agenda in health, social careand children’s services created a driver to developspecific National Occupational Standards (NOS) forthe role.The aim of this qualification is to guide and assessdevelopment of knowledge and skills relating toCommissioning, Procurement and Contracting, and toconfirm competence in these areas where appropriate.Learners who will undertake this qualification willwholly or partly be engaged in roles in social care andchildren’s & young people’s sectors in England, Walesand N Ireland. This qualification confirms competence in these areas whereappropriate.This qualification can be offered to learners from the age of 19. One unit fromGroup B to a minimum of 3 credits, one unit from Group C to a minimum of 4 credits and a minimum of 9 creditsfrom Group D. In group D, if a learner selects unit CPCCS39 or unit CPCCS14 then they must alsocomplete unit CPCCS312.
