Extraordinary World Class Violinist Chee-YunAbsolutely Dazzles Crowd at Symphony ConcerttPhotos by Tom OosterhoudtEditor’s note: No artist except Zuill Bailley has stunned the symphony’s audiencelike Chee-Yun. The forty-one year old grew up in Seoul, South Korea,and has performed with most of the world’s major symphony orchestras.Currently, she is also the artist in residence and Professor of Violin at SouthernMethodist University in Dallas. Her violin is a Stradivarius made in 1708.She absolutely dazzled the crowd with Camille Saint-Saens difficult “Introductionet Rondo Capriccioso” and “Havanaise”, as well as Pablo de Sarasate’sZigeunerweisen (Gypsy Airs). It is rare to see any violinist anywhere tacklethree such challenging works in one performance.
