THE CHAIRMAN<br />

On behalf the <strong>Florida</strong> <strong>Atlantic</strong> <strong>University</strong> Foundation, I would like to thank<br />
all members of the FAU family for their continued support. The philanthropic<br />
spirit of our alumni, friends, corporate and community partners, faculty, staff and<br />
students is helping FAU to excel <strong>as</strong> a world cl<strong>as</strong>s academic and research institution.<br />
FAU is growing at a rapid pace. Our supporters, who continue to amaze us<br />
with their generosity, are ensuring that <strong>this</strong> growth continues. This p<strong>as</strong>t year saw<br />
the doors open at the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing – a magnificent structure<br />
that is home to an exceptional program in nursing. Only a few months ago,<br />
FAU’s newest college, the Charles E. Schmidt College of Biomedical Science, w<strong>as</strong><br />
established. Gifts from Cindy and Stuart Markowitz, M.D., Robin and Larry<br />
Nagle, and my wife June and myself will help <strong>this</strong> college <strong>as</strong> it provides outstanding<br />
opportunities for a new generation of doctors and researchers. The<br />
<strong>University</strong> Club of the FAU Foundation, through its outstanding series of<br />
events, raised funds to support FAU Libraries and provide scholarships to deserving<br />
students.<br />
This annual report reminds us, once again, of how fortunate we are to have<br />
such generous and caring supporters.With you, and your investment in the future<br />
of <strong>Florida</strong> <strong>Atlantic</strong> <strong>University</strong>, we will continue to soar to new levels of greatness.<br />
