The Sean Stein Scholarship and Pavilion
Sean Stein dreamed of making a difference in the world. A dean’s list student in FAU’s College of Business, talented
athlete, fraternity brother and leader in student government, Sean possessed a charismatic personality and warmth
that would have no doubt served him well in whatever he chose to do. In a paper completed for an FAU philosophy
class Sean wrote, “One goal that gives my life meaning is my hunger to leave my mark on this world. Almost everyone
would like to be remembered but I am positive I am going to do something that ensures I have a place in history.”
Sadly Sean’s aspirations were never fulfilled. His
death in 1999, at the age of 20, tragically ended a
life that had barely begun. Honoring Sean’s memory
and ensuring that his dream of making a difference
will be realized, Sean’s parents, Peter and Susan Stein,
made a gift commitment in excess of $1 million to
FAU to create The Sean Stein Scholarship and Pavilion
Fund. This endowment will benefit highly qualified
students in the College of Business and name
the center structure of the newly opened College of
Business complex on the Boca Raton campus the
“SEAN STEIN PAVILION.” The gift will also provide
the University with a park at the south entrance to
the College of Business.
