nhatNhat Hyunh used his training to keep himselfand fellow servicemen out of harm’s way whenan emergency situation arose during his overseasmilitary duty:“We were driving along a one-lane road around2 A.M. [when] I saw a flash of light and heard a loudnoise. I didn't realize we were hit by an improvisedexplosive denator until guys in front screamed on theradio, 'IED, IED, everybody stop!' The truck in frontof us took some damage, but luckily no one was hurt.Once everything was clear, we decided to continuethe mission. We moved a couple of feet until we sawa secondary IED in front of our truck. I tried to backthe truck up quickly, but I could barely see outside thetruck in the darkness. I decided to use my night visiongoggles to help me back the truck up. As the trailerstarted to turn, I remembered that the teachers fromNETTTS taught me to steer the opposite direction toget the trailer moving the direction you want it to goand use small movements to keep it straight. I was ableto back the truck up quickly.”Nhat Hyunh – New England Tractor Trailer TrainingSchoolRusty McClintock graduated from the WyoTech Laramie campus inMarch 2009 after successfully completing the Collision/Refinishing,Chassis Fabrication, Street Rod. and Trim & Upholstery curricula.During his tenure at WyoTech, he achieved Eagle Tech status throughhis excellent grades and attendance record, participated in intramuralsports, and volunteered on numerous projects.Rusty donated more than 250 hours on projects such as theWyoTech Alcohol Awareness program, a project car for a soldier whowas fighting in Iraq, and a time-intensive truck build at West CoastCustoms in Corona, Calif. As a result of Rusty’s efforts, along withthe rest of the WyoTech team, the school was able to surprise a soldierwith a completely restored and well-tuned muscle car.Rusty was deemed an “outstanding graduate” by the Street Roddepartment and was hired by the campus as a tour guide followinghis graduation. Since then, he’s shared his knowledge during metalshaping seminars at the school and was a featured speaker at the newstudent orientation in April of this year. Today he is employed bythe Ogden Top & Trim company in Chicago where he works onantique, vintage and high-end sports car interiors. “Rusty is one ofthose students and employees that we hated to see leave the school,”said WyoTech Laramie president Guy Warpness, “but we knew hewas destined to accomplish great things. We expect to hear a lotmore about Rusty in the future.” Rusty McClintock – WyoTechrustyaimee“I received my first degree from Herzing in Madison, Wis., in 1996, and completed my second degree with Herzing Online in2006. In each case, my Herzing degree gave me the tools and credentials I needed to succeed in my career. When I graduatedthe first time, I started as an intern at Best Power and was later hired as an associate manufacturing engineer. After being laid offand working as a technical writer and illustrator, I returned to Best Power as a supplier quality technician, launching my careerin quality. Ultimately, I ended up at Benchmark Electronics as a supplier quality engineer. While I also have a B.A. from PennState, I could not get further ahead at Benchmark without a B.S. While attending Herzing’s Madison graduation when I wasnamed to the local Wall of Fame, I learned more about the Bachelor of Science in Technology Management and enrolled in theprogram almost immediately."Since I was still working full time, had two small children, and was active in a professional society, I did not have the time toattend live classes. Herzing's flexible online program let me do the work in the 15 to 60-minute increments that I had available,and I was able to finish the program quickly and get the promotion that I wanted. I was later able to present my capstone projectat an ASQ Quality Management Division Conference, allowing me the opportunity to continue sharing the knowledge that Igained in school.
