quinceyQuincey Montgomery is a graduate success and a role model.Quincey graduated from Brown Mackie College – Cincinnatiin 2008 with an Associate of Applied Business degree inBusiness Management. He proudly states, “A positive stateof mind yields positive results.” Quincey is a determinedman on a mission to succeed. He is a product supply HRassistant at the Procter & Gamble Company (P&G). Hisjob duties include providing support in project managementand execution.Quincey started at P&G following graduation. "If it were notfor Brown Mackie College – Cincinnati, I may not be withP&G today,” he said. “The company’s SuccessWay Co-opProgram gave me a chance.”The P&G SuccessWay Co-op Program is a program offered tomany colleges and universities in the greater Cincinnati area.Walter Hawkins, a former P&G employee and now a seniorinstructor at Brown Mackie College – Cincinnati, consultedwith P&G to help bring the SuccessWay program to BrownMackie College – Cincinnati. P&G invited nearly 200 studentsfrom greater Cincinnati area colleges and universities to attenda SuccessWay Co-op symposium. Students selected from thesymposium would fill approximately 38 P&G co-op positions.Seven students from Brown Mackie College – Cincinnati wereinvited to attend the symposium, and of the seven, six studentswere selected as co-op program participants. All six are nowemployed full time at P&G. Quincey continues to give back toBrown Mackie College – Cincinnati by serving as the school’steam leader for recruiting students for the P&G SuccessWayCo-op Program.Quincey credits his mother and the birth of his son as hisreasons for choosing to attend Brown Mackie College –Cincinnati. “My mother and my son were my inspiration,” hesaid. “They are why I came to the school. In fact, my mom andI started school together. Unfortunately, she had to withdrawfrom school due to medical reasons. Her leaving school gaveme more motivation to succeed."The flexibility at Brown Mackie College – Cincinnati andthe school's great faculty and staff contributed to my successat the school. I thank them all for being there for me throughthick and thin."Quincey’s professional goal is to earn a promotion intomanagement at P&G. He is back in school and plans to earnan MBA by 2014. First and foremost, however, he wants to bea great father and role model for his son, Qi’moni. A single motherto six children, she attended school full time and worked part time.Latoria was also a mentor and tutor to her fellow students, president ofthe Student Council for two years, and secretary of Herzing’s Phi BetaLambda (Future Business Leaders of America) chapter.Prior to enrolling at Herzing, Latoria was struggling to make endsmeet. After living for a short time out of her van with her six children,she knew she had to make a drastic change in order to be the rolemodel for them she wanted to be. They moved from the Chicago areato Wisconsin where Latoria chose Herzing College [now HerzingUniversity] for its individual student attention and caring atmosphere.Latoria now works at CFS Virchow Krause as a cash accountantcoordinator and plans to continue her education in the specialized fieldof forensic accounting. ◄ WHAT'S AT RISK? | 46
