Withan inexpensive doormat, homemade stencils, and outdoor paint, you can personalize your front door to fityou and your home!words & images by SARAH WISSINGERYOU WILL NEED:• Plain doormat• Porch paint or outdoor furniturepaint• Paintbrush• Cardboard• Pencil• Box cutter• Masking tape• Printer/paper (<strong>option</strong>al)INSTRUCTIONS:1. Create your cardboard stencil. Either draw your design freehand, orprint a design you can trace (our skyline was drawn freehand, but theletters were printed and traced.) Cut out the stencil with a box cutter.2. Line up the stencil on your doormat and secure with masking tape.3. Lay down a drop cloth or craft paper to catch any drops of paint. Paintaround your stencil with your paintbrush. After the first coat has fullydried, add a second coat.
