es sind die typischen tischkonstruktionen in den lesesälen der Bibliotheken des 19. Jahrhunderts, auf denen die idee der
Workbench basiert. raum, zeit und kosten waren damals wie jetzt relevante größen. aus heutiger sicht ein erster gehversuch in
sachen ökonomischer raumnutzung, wobei in der planung bereits arbeits-, kommunikations- und verkehrszonen berücksichtigt
wurden. aber man hielt sich seinerzeit auch noch nicht täglich acht stunden und mehr in diesen lesesälen auf. Die zeiten ändern
sich. Der damals gute, aber verbesserungswürdige ansatz sieht sich zukunftsweisend adaptiert für das neue Jahrtausend: in der
Workbench hali system 421 WB findet die ursprünglich simple idee ihre multifunktionale entsprechung für die gegenwart.

the Workbench concept has its roots in the typical table designs of the reading rooms of 19 th century libraries. then, as now,
space, time and costs were factors of relevance and from a current perspective, these library facilities represented an initial
attempt to achieve the economic use of space, whereby the planning already included working, communication and traffic zones.
however, at that time it was still unusual to spend eight hours or more in the reading room. But times change and the solid
approach of the past, which was worthy of modification, has now been adapted to the new century in a forward-looking manner.
accordingly, in the hali system 421 WB Workbench the original, simple idea finds its multifunctional equivalent for the office of
today.
