May 4, 2011Dear 8 th Grade Students and Parents,On Friday, May 20 th , we will be taking our annual 8 th grade celebration trip to Elitch Gardens.We will be leaving school during 2 nd period, taking DPS busses to Elitch’s, and will return by theend of 8 th period.Students may stay at Elitch’s and not return to Morey that afternoon if they have prior parentpermission (see permission slip below). Once teacher chaperones have left at 1:30pm, parentsaccept responsibility for their student’s behavior and transportation home. Elitch’s closes at4pm on May 20 th .Students who do not obtain parent permission to stay at Elitch’s are expected to return toMorey with the teacher chaperones. Those students must report to the entrance of Elitch’s nolater than 1:25pm. Teacher chaperones will contact parents if their student has not reported tothe DPS bus by 1:30pm, however, we will not be able to wait for late students, as the bus needsto return to Morey in time for after school routes.Ticket options: $19 for a one-day pass or $30 for a one-day pass that includes an all-you-can-eatlunch of hot dogs/bbq sandwiches/potato salad/chips/frozen yogurt/sodaTickets must be purchased from the treasurer byMonday, May 16 th .Students who do not purchase a ticket by that day will not be going on the trip!Students who have an Elitch’s pass or who plan to purchase a pass that morning (notrecommended—the line is usually long) must still hand in a signed parent permission slip inorder to attend this event.Only students who have returned schoolbooks and/or paid book fines will be permitted toattend. If you have missing books and/or book fines, you MUST have this taken care ofbefore you can purchase an Elitch’s ticket. Students who do not pay Morey school fines willnot participate in Continuation on May 26 th .There will be a limited number of ticket scholarships for students who need them.
