Francisco CorzasAlthough Corzas was associated with the 1960s Mexicanmovement of Nueva Presencia, his style and themes can be indebtedto German expressionism and the Italian new realism filmmakers,Fellini and Rossellini. Corzas’ harshly stark figures and groupingsusually appear isolated and are shrouded in a strong chiaroscuro ormonochrome palette of color and hue. In the early 60s, he focusedon the subject of nomads and outcasts of society which he calledtrashumantes or perpetual wanderers of the circus.
