Ournew 17 in 1 Deluxe Microcontroller Exploration Lab was developedas an introduction to microcontrollers and requires no previousknowledge of microcontrollers or programming languages.This is the perfect hands-on lab that gives your studentsvaluable practical experience as they build each experiment. All ofthe source code (written in C) is provided on a CD rom and eachexperiment has a hex file (the compiled source code) that can beprogrammed onto the microcontroller using a Microchip PICkit2programmer. The PICkit2 programmer plugs into a USB port onyour computer and allows you to program your microcontroller witha hex file (the compiled source code). The PICkit2 programmeris included with the complete version of the kit and is necessaryto program the microcontroller. Advanced users or students thatare familiar with the C programming language will be able tofollow the source code that was used to generate the hex file foreach experiment.*This lab requires no soldering as each experiment isbuilt on a reusable solderless breadboard using the suppliedelectronic components. At the heart of this lab is a microntrollercircuit comprised of: the Microchip PIC18F2410 microcontroller,a crystal, a voltage regulator, and other components. Thismicrocontroller plugs directly into the breadboard and controlsall 17 experiments.A printed instruction manual with detailed illustrationsguides students through the lab. The instruction manual startswith an introduction to microcontrollers and gives an overview ofwhat microcontrollers can do and how they are used in today’smodern digital circuits. Information on interfacing the PICkit2programmer with your computer is also included. From here,the student will begin to build the experiments. All experimentsoperate from one 9VDC battery (not included).
