In conclusion, the in vitro hepatocyte model demonstrated that Ag <strong>and</strong> ZnO NPs were constantly<br />

more potent than MWCNT <strong>and</strong> TiO2 nanomaterials with respect to cytotoxicity <strong>and</strong> cytokine<br />

production. For the MWCNT <strong>and</strong> TiO2 nanomaterials, these particles only induced cytokine<br />

production at very high exposure concentrations which was associated with oxidative stress.<br />
