Designing with LIghTKelvin Spectrum3. Color of light describes how warm or cool the temperature of the light is measured in a unitcalled kelvin.1. For grooming applications, a warm fluorescent light between 2700 and 3100K (kelvin) isindicated for replicating natural light.1. You can locate the kelvin temperature of the lamp on the packaging or in its model number. For example, in the model number F32T8RE830, the “30” at the end translates to 3000 kelvin.Besides the kelvin temperature of the bulb in the warm (2700K – 3000K) range, the CRI orColor Rendering Index should be considered. A CRI in the 80 range is preferred. This willprovide a light that renders colors evenly across the color spectrum within the kelvin range ofthe lamp. ROBERN supplies and recommends bulbs with an 827 to 830 suffix that indicatesboth CRI and kelvin in the proper combination for grooming tasks.APPLICATIONS | 125
