Currently, he volunteers at The Center for Hematology-Oncology (CHO). Louis and his wife, Esther, are originally from New York. At age 50, Louis resumed his college career at Adelphia University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business and communications. This was while successfully running his business as a Licensed Public Insurance Property Adjuster. Now retired, Louis is becoming a Volunteer Certified Emergency Response Team member. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf. Thank you, Louis, for your dedicated volunteer service for Boca Regional. Administrative Update It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I join Boca Raton Regional Hospital as the Chief Compliance Officer. From the inception it has been clear to me that this Hospital is a very special place where administrators, employees, physicians, volunteers and members of the community are committed to making this the finest regional medical center possible, with a focus on compassion and quality care. I am pleased that I will be able to add value to this team by sharing my experience and equal passion for healthcare and the area that we serve. Prior to joining Boca Regional, I spent nearly five years at a Baltimore, Maryland hospital <strong>–</strong> MedStar Union Memorial <strong>–</strong> building the foundation for a strong culture of compliance as their Director of Compliance and Privacy. My other professional experience includes numerous years as a Corporate Privacy Officer, and roles as a Health Information Management Director in acute and long-term care. Through my years, I have learned that people are the driving force for excellence in any healthcare organization. The buildings are simply brick and mortar, but it is the people that make a difference. My educational background includes an Associate of Science degree in Health Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership, and a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership. In addition to graduating Summa Cum Laude I have achieved credentials as a Registered Health Information Technologist, Certified in Healthcare Privacy and most recently have passed my Board of Governors exam to be soon deemed a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). I am affiliated with various professional organizations including the Healthcare Compliance Association, American Health Information Management Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives. I enjoy my participation in these professional organizations as they allow me to stay current with the ever changing landscape of the healthcare regulatory environment. In closing, I appreciate the warm welcome I have received from everyone here at Boca Regional. My primary goal is to contribute to our philosophy of One Team. One Mission. We all bear a responsibility for always doing the right thing on behalf of our patients and the community.
