July Volunteer of the Month
SHERRY THOMAS
Since joining D-RMSL in May
2011, Sherry has given over 700
hours working two days a week
in the Chemotherapy Room at
the Eugene M. & Christine E.
Lynn Cancer Institute (LCI) on
Tuesdays and Thursdays.
A graduate of the University of Florida,
she worked for the Florida Department of
Education for 25 years, before briefly working
for the Florida State Grant Center, then retiring
and moving to Boca Raton. Coming out of
retirement, she worked part-time for four
years at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in the
College of Education.
Sherry and her husband, Glenn, have both had
long careers in Florida education. After retiring
from FAU, Glenn is now Executive Director of
the Palm Beach County Education Commission.
Sherry gets high praise from the staff at The
Center for Hematology-Oncology, who would
like to clone her. Thank you, Sherry, for all you
do to support LCI, Boca Regional and D-RMSL.
