First Team… All Ping!Baseball.com Honorary Mention… led NCAA Div<strong>is</strong>ion I<br />

with 1.57 runs per game… started 45 of 46 appearances… led the MAAC in<br />

runs scored (72) and slugging percentage (.754)… ranked in the top-5 of the<br />

MAAC in triples (2nd – 6), on-base percentage (2nd - .480), batting average<br />

(2nd - .396), stolen bases (3rd – 25), home runs (4th – 13) and total bases (4th<br />

– 141)… broke MAAC single season runs record (72) and tied h<strong>is</strong> own single<br />

season program triples record (6)… posted 72 hits and tied for third<br />

on the team with 54 RBI… had 23 multi-hit games, including a team-high six<br />

four hit performances… scored a season-high five runs leading Manhattan<br />

to a extra inning victory at Albany (4/29)… rode an 11 game hit streak in the<br />

regular-season… notched 16 doubles and walked 24 times… went 4-for-5 with<br />

a season-high six RBI and a home run in a win over Fairfield (4/18)… posted five<br />

multi-steal games, including a season-high three steals in wins over Fairleigh<br />

Dickinson (4/15) and Can<strong>is</strong>ius (4/25)… delivered five RBIs twice, versus Saint<br />

Peter’s (3/21) and Fordham (4/28)… hit 2-for-3 in the MAAC Tournament victory<br />

over Rider (5/21)... recorded a .948 fielding percentage… Preseason All-MAAC<br />

selection… Brooks Wallace Player of the Year Watch L<strong>is</strong>t… All-Ping!Baseball<br />

Preseason honoree… played summer ball for the Vermont Mountaineers of the<br />

New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL).<br />

2007: Started all 54 games... was .267 from the plate with 16 RBI... led<br />

the team and the MAAC with 24 stolen bases... a Second Team All-MAAC<br />

selection... tallied 14 multi-hit games... made first collegiate start in season<br />

opener at South Florida (2/23)... recorded first collegiate hit at Liberty (3/3)...<br />

named MAAC Rookie of the Week on March 26 and April 9... selected to<br />

College Baseball Foundation National Honor Roll on April 12... was 3-for-4<br />

with two runs scored in series opener vs. Can<strong>is</strong>ius (3/25)... went 3-for-3 with<br />

three runs, two RBI, and two stolen bases at Albany (4/3)... was 2-for-4 with<br />

three runs and three stolen bases in the series opener at Niagara (4/21)... went<br />

4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored vs. Rider (4/28)... played h<strong>is</strong> summer<br />

baseball for the Amsterdam Mohawks of the New York Collegiate Baseball<br />

League (NYCBL)... named to the NYCBL All-Star team... led the team with 34<br />

stolen bases.<br />

BEFORE MANHATTAN: Named First Team All-Dade County as a senior after<br />

batting .420, with seven home runs and 27 RBI... served as team captain h<strong>is</strong><br />

senior season... won the Mar<strong>is</strong>t Award for leadership and team spirit... posted<br />

a .350 batting average as a junior, with three home runs and 17 stolen bases...<br />

team advanced to the State Regional Round as a junior.<br />

PERSONAL: A finance major... the son of Antonio and Elizabeth Nieto... has a<br />

brother, Eric ’08, who <strong>is</strong> the program’s career hits leader (219).<br />

2008: Started 42 of 43 appearances… named First Team All-MAAC… selected<br />

to ECAC Div<strong>is</strong>ion I All-Star Second Team and American Baseball Coaches<br />

Association Northeast Region First Team… appointed to MAAC Championships<br />

All-Tournament Team after going 4-for-6, including a home run and double<br />

while driving in two RBI… led conference in batting average (.386) and triples<br />

(6)… fin<strong>is</strong>hed in the top-5 of the league in stolen bases (third, 21-for-21),<br />

slugging percentage (fourth, .595), on-base percentage (fourth, .467) and RBI<br />

(fifth, 47)… tied for third on the squad with 59 hits, including 14 doubles…<br />
