7 TH GRADE FIELD HOCKEY SEASON OPENER SUCCESS<br />
The 7 th grade girl’s field hockey team held their season opener<br />
last Monday night at home against Noe Middle School. CAL<br />
quickly set the pace of the game and led at the half. The final<br />
score was 7-0 CAL with goals scored by Haley Hale, Sophie<br />
Herbig, Mia Schoenbeck, Lorelai Shafer, and Claudia Thomas.<br />
Assists were made by Becca Kline, Mia Schoenbeck, and Claudia<br />
Thomas. Great teamwork girls! The next home game is<br />
Monday August 31 st at 7:00pm against Crosby Middle School<br />
so come support the girls. Let’s go CAL!!<br />
The 5th/6th Football Centurions participated in the CureSearch walk for<br />
Childhood Cancer on Saturday morning. The team walked a mile to raise<br />
awareness for the need for research money to end childhood cancer and to<br />
support the Ehrenborg & White families. Go TEAM NATE!<br />
Later that morning, the team took on the Fairdale Bulldogs at CAL. The team<br />
was led by touchdowns from Conner Carr, Ben Strong, and Caleb Thompson.<br />
The offensive line led by center Jacob<br />
Price had good blocks and snaps that<br />
assisted quarterback Robert Ehrenborg<br />
to lead the offensive effort.<br />
The team had great rushing effort by<br />
Adam Ballard, Dylan Schwartz, Camden<br />
Peters, Caleb Thompson, Gavin Willis,<br />
and Conner Carr.<br />
The defense once again held the opponents scoreless. The defense was led by tackles from Andrew Dupps, Matthew<br />
Mauzy, Aiden Hornback, Christian Walker, Dylan Schwartz, Adam<br />
Ballard, Caleb Thompson, Eli Thompson, Isaac Patrick, Caden Halloway,<br />
Gavin Willis, Baylor Hill, and Conner Carr.<br />
Alex Wolfe had an interception to put the team in great scoring position.<br />
Centurions won 39-0. We are 4-0 on the season.<br />
The team is ranked #1 in the Louisville Youth Football League Junior<br />
West division & #2 in the National Prep & Youth Football Association<br />
Kentucky 12U.<br />
14
