Almost extremely fine coin with beautiful toning CHF 1´000.-<br />

The imperatorial propaganda attached great importance on the military virtues of the young Caius Caesar as designated<br />

successor of Augustus. The visit of the 12-year old Caius Caesar to the legions in Germania in the year 8 BC was to<br />

introduce him to the legionnaires. The coin we are offering was struck for this occasion and was to spread the image<br />

of an able military successor.<br />
