Wednesday 9am-12.40pm
You are provided with 2 cases in each 20 minute station, which must be passed on
promptly. For each case, you are given a single H&E stained section and brief
clinical details.
You should provide a written report to the requesting clinician including a description
and diagnosis incorporating clinical comment.
You may suggest additional investigations as appropriate.
During the mid session break you may continue to write but may not view slides or
speak to other candidates
1 Female of 51, three month history of bleeding and ulceration of right nipple
2 Female of 80, Rapidly increasing mass in left thyroid lobe, total thyroidectomy
3 Male of 33, Perforated small bowel diverticulum
4 Female of 40, Hysterectomy for menorrhagia, endometrial polyp noted
5 Female of 47, Orthotopic liver transplant
6 Female of 63, multiple skin lesions, biopsy from neck
7 Female of 20, lesion in deltoid region, previously biopsied
8 Male of 78, Bladder tumour resection
9 Male of 34, Skin coloured papules on face and neck for two years
10 Female of 59, screen detected lesion right breast
11 Female of 52, Left Ovarian tumour, 165mm in max diameter,
ruptured during mobilisation
12 Male of 84, peripheral lung nodule excised.
13 Female of 42, Six month history of itchy rash on trunk.

14 Male of 81, chronic left epididymo-orchitis with hard testicle
15 Male of 72, dyspepsia, white areas in duodenum biopsied
16 Male of 52, Cystic lesion in tail of pancreas removed.
Three month history of episodes of confusion and sweating
17 Male of 41, rapidly enlarging lesion of finger
18 Male of 55, Nephrectomy for Polycystic kidney, solid area adjacent to cyst
19 Male of 73, Gastric Ulcer biopsy
20 Female of 49, pelvic mass, 160mm smooth surfaced ovarian tumour
